Our employees are not only embraced by our rich British history, but we work hard, have fun and make history!

An independent British Film and Television production company, Prime Times Productions, has a budget of £5 million pounds per film, partly supplied by lottery funding, in order to make new British films based on historical events.

Prime Times has aspirations for its films to appeal to more than the mainstream 16-25 youth market and the distributors are looking to release the films in about twenty cinemas around the UK in the hope that its status will ‘build’.

As a freelance employee of Prime Times Productions, you will be working in their Advertising and Promotions Department.

You have been given the task of producing a two minute trailer for one of their film products. The trailer for the film should attempt to hook its audience into the narrative, posing questions for the audience that the film will answer. Bearing in mind the film’s target audience, you will need to consider carefully the balance between plot and spectacle. It is expected that the trailer will be shown in cinemas showing films that have been given a 12 or 15 certificate.

Secondly you should create a complementary film poster for the release of the Prime Times’ British film you are promoting.

You have two weeks in which to research, plan and prepare and then you will be asked to complete a number of tasks.

Remember to:
􀁺 keep your responses short and focused
􀁺 use diagrams/illustrations where appropriate
􀁺 provide examples where you can to support your ideas.

The most successful product will be released to cinemas by the end of the year.

Good luck with this. We look forward to hearing from you.

Paramount Pictures is America’s oldest running movie studio founded in 1912. We would welcome all highly motivated individuals with a strong passion for their work to undertake the following opportunity within the Paramount Pictures team.
Paramount Pictures Corporation is a global producer and distributor of filmed entertainment, with robust and multi-faceted divisions across all areas including digital, home entertainment, network and cable television distribution, studio operations, and consumer products and recreation. A unit of the leading global entertainment content company, Viacom, Paramount is part of a family of prominent and respected brands including MTV Networks and BET Networks.

Paramount consists of several film labels including, the legendary Paramount Pictures; leading youth brand, MTV Films; the preeminent family entertainment label, Nickelodeon Movies; and specialty film labels, Paramount Vantage and Paramount Classics. In addition, the Studio will continue to release a number of films under the DW label. Paramount also has established distribution deals with iconic comic book creator, Marvel Entertainment and renowned animated film producer, DreamWorks Animation.

Currently we are working on ideas to bring literary classics to the big screen. The opportunity we are offering is for ideas to be pitched within this classification, with a global audience in mind.

However you must remember that no film is for everyone. Each film has a target audience. It’s your job to know – specifically – who they are. Your film can’t communicate effectively or succeed at the box office unless you know the group of people for whom you are making it. Identifying a target audience is not about selling out or being formulaic; it’s about being relevant and appealing to your audience without breaking the integrity of the film. Your target audiences should be defined primarily by gender and age range. Additional elements include socioeconomic status, rural or urban, race, family status, theatre goers or not, and special interests. These interests can include anything from political leanings to religion or the particular subject matter of the film.

You have two weeks in which to research, plan and prepare and then you will be asked to complete four tasks.

Remember to:
􀁺 keep your responses short and focused
􀁺 use diagrams/illustrations where appropriate
􀁺 provide examples where you can to support your ideas.

The most successful product will be released in Hollywood within the season of your choice.

Good luck
